Hello Dr. Reznick

I wanted to know your opinion on use of oral corticosteroids like Prednisone, or Dexamethasone after wisdom tooth removal or an extensive bone augmentation procedure. I know it is a common practice wherein 7 doses of Dexamethasone are prescribed in the frequency of twice a day for 2 days——once a day for 2 days and OD for the last day. It does help with post-operative swelling. What are your thoughts, and do you have a regimen?
